Dear Santaluzienses, as president of the Santa Luzia Parish Council, I commit myself to honor and fulfill all the designs that have been proposed to me.
Our history
Santa Luziais a Portuguese parish in the municipality of Tavira, with an area of 4.46 km² and 1587 inhabitants.
Its population density is 355.8 inhabitants/km². Santa Luzia is considered the octopus capital.

The origin of this parish dates back to 1577, and its name is an invocation to the saint of the same name, Sicilian, protector of eye patients. Santa Luzia was elevated to village status on May 13, 1999.
​
It is in Santa Luzia that you can take the boat, passing the Ria Formosa, to Praia do Barril or Praia do Rio Estreito.
