Narrow Earth Beach
Praia da Terra Estreita is a maritime beach located in the parish of Santa Luzia, municipality of Tavira, in the middle of the Ria Formosa Natural Park. It is located on Ilha de Tavira, west of Praia das Quatro Águas and east of Praia do Barril Beach, at a point where there is a narrowing of the sand cord of the barrier island. It has beach support during the bathing period.
Church
Church built in the century. 20 with a project by the architect Manuel Gomes da Costa (born in 1921), marked by a characteristic composition of the post-war Modern Movement.
Ria Formosa Natural Park
The Ria Formosa Natural Park covers an area of about 18400 ha, distributed along 60 km of coastline that comprises the territory of Ancão à Manta Rota.
With about two hundred documented species, the Ria Formosa is home to migratory birds from central and northern Europe, in addition to being a nesting site for many others.
The Ria Formosa is an area protected by the Natural Park Statute, since 1987, it was elected, in 2010, as one of the 7 Natural Wonders of Portugal, it is also considered an ecosystem of great importance, not only regionally but nationally and internationally.
Anchor Cemetery
Anchors of the old tuna fishing fleet, this place, due to the number of anchors, became known as the anchor cemetery.
Train from Barril beach
The Praia do Barril train is a 600 mm-gauge seasonal tourist railway (Decauville system) that connects the pier in front of Pedras d'el Rei to Praia do Barril (on Ilha de Tavira, Portugal) along a route of 1 km.
The line was built with the initial purpose of serving the old tuna fishing frame located in Praia do Barril, existing around the 1920s.
